If you’re looking for a new field hockey club in Vancouver, or looking for a great group of fun people to hang with (with one of the best club houses in the world) then you’ve come to the right place.
Jokers are known in Vancouver, and across the world, as Vancouver’s fun and social field hockey club.
Joining the Jokers is about more than playing field hockey on a team in a league. It’s about being part of a great big fun, happy community. Our slogan is “Competitive Hockey, Serious Fun” and we try to live that in everything we do.
We play competitive hockey in the Vancouver mens and womens leagues.
We have teams in most grades, ranging from beginner through to elite. We often have players who were total beginners, and others who are former national team players.
Each team has a dedicated coach, practices weekly, and really does provide a fun and supportive community for both new and returning players. Each team has a drinks cooler. We sure know how to “warm down” after a game.
As a Joker, you can play field hockey year-round. In addition to the regular season we also play Spring League, Summer Drop-In, and take teams to tournaments like the Victoria Masters, the Vancouver International Tournament, and the West Vancouver Orca.
We also run awesome summer hockey fun events like Canada Vs The Rest of the World and tidal hockey.
Our social committee runs an awesome calendar of fun events throughout the year. Some of the highlights include Rookies Night and Awards Night, as well as our big parties for Christmas, Halloween and St. Paddys Day. You can see pictures of our events on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Our home is the Vancouver Rowing Club. We think it’s the best deck in Vancouver. Situated over the water, just inside Stanley Park, it’s the best place in the city for drinks and “burn your own” burgers. Summer evenings with your mates – drinking beers and watching the sun go down over the city – is a pretty special part of being a Joker.
We welcome new players from around the world. You will hear many accents at the club. And with so many international players our Canada vs. Rest of World match is always a blast.
